Agreements with County

The City and County agreed to the following on  October 8, 2018:

Culverts

Yachats Public Works Department  will look at the culverts under Oceanview Drive to identify  concerns. The County will put inserts into the identified culverts to improve their strength and sustainability for the future.

Property Easements

The County is drafting easement language, which will then be vetted by the City Attorney. Easements are needed for five property owners where the Ocean View Drive travel surface has encroached onto private property. An easement will allow the road to remain; however, the property owners are protected should they need to rebuild in the future.

The City is also following up on utility easements that are needed for maintenance of our utilities.

Signage

The County may be willing to assist with signage on areas of the trail that are confusing for visitors. The City Manager is meeting with the Trails Committee on November  21, 2018 to obtain their input.

Archeologist

The County will be getting clarification from the State Archeologist about what can be done regarding guard rails. This is important not only during the transition, but also for the future. The City needs to know the current expectations and requirements.
