The City of Yachats Asks for Public Feedback on a Plan to Protect Our Water
YACHATS, Oregon – On April 27, the City of Yachats will host a virtual public meeting to discuss a draft Drinking Water Protection Plan. The meeting will be held via Zoom at 11 am.
Public feedback on the draft Drinking Water Protection Plan is critical to protecting our community’s ability to provide clean, safe, and reliable drinking water. At the meeting, we will provide an overview of the plan, focusing on strategies and actions to address risks to our drinking water sources. Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts on the draft plan. Those unable to attend will be able to view a recording of the meeting and submit comments and questions afterwards.
The planning process has been made possible by a grant from the Oregon Health Authority. Throughout the process, the City has engaged a diverse group of community members and technical experts to develop a plan tailored to our local context and needs. In September, the City held a public meeting to discuss risks to the City’s drinking water sources, Reedy Creek and Salmon Creek, which are tributaries of the Yachats River.
Protecting our water sources will help ensure a reliable supply of high-quality drinking water for years to come.
