Empty Bowls
Sunday, March 29, 2026
Pottery bowls, handcrafted by the Waldport Coastal Community Clay Studio. Select a bowl to take home, it will be filled with soup and accompanied with bread and a cookie provided by local restaurants. There will be entertainment provided by local musicians and a silent auction. All proceeds will go to the Yachats Food Pantry.
The Empty Bowls project, founded in 1990, is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat hunger through community-driven events featuring handmade bowls and simple meals.
Since its inception, Empty Bowls has grown into an international movement, with events held in various communities across the globe. The project allows local artists and craftspeople to create and donate bowls, which are then used to serve meals at fundraising events. The proceeds from these events are donated to food banks, soup kitchens, and other organizations dedicated to fighting hunger. (Wikipedia)
