People Eligible for a Card

Any permanent or part-time resident of Yachats, and any permanent resident of Lincoln County can obtain a library card by completing the application in person during library business hours. Yachats library cards have no expiration date and are free. However, please note that library patrons with no activity for 5 years will be purged from the system. 

Required Information

The information required to obtain a library card is your name, mailing address, phone number and email address, if applicable. Minors under 12 years of age may obtain a library card with a parent or guardian's permission. 

Visitors staying in Yachats for one week or more can obtain a library card. Please contact the library if any of your contact information changes so that we may update our records.

Passport System

Yachats Library participates in the Passport system, allowing library patrons in good standing to obtain library cards from other participating libraries, and vice versa.

Lending Policies

Lending Period

Yachats library patrons may check out printed books and materials, audiobooks and DVDs for a period of 2 weeks. Items may be renewed for an additional 2 weeks, unless the item is on a reserve/waiting list for another patron.

Renewals & Returning

Please be considerate of other patrons and return items by their due date, or contact the library to renew. You may renew items over the phone or in person. All items checked out from the Yachats library must be returned to the Yachats library. 

Fines 

There are no fines for overdue items, but please consider adding a small donation to the jar by the check out desk.

Sharing Networks 

Yachats Public Library is an independent library and as such has no sharing networks with other libraries.
