water curtailment image

The airborne watering of lawns, gardens, and landscaping is restricted to alternative days. Specifically, houses with an address number ending in even numbers (0-2-4-6-8) shall be permitted to water lawns only on even-numbered calendar days. Houses with an address number ending in odd numbers (1-3-5-7-9), or fractional addresses, shall be permitted to water only on odd-numbered calendar days. All watering of lawns, gardens, and landscaping shall be between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. of each day.

Water Curtailment Encouraged for Yachats

Water conservation methods are encouraged following Lincoln County drought declarations by Governor Kotek and the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.

Here are some practical tips to help you reduce your water usage effectively:

  • Limit watering lawns and plants
  • Use a broom instead of a hose on surfaces such as patios and driveways.
  • Check faucets and toilets for leaks and fix them immediately.
  • Avoid washing vehicles
  • Shorten showers.
  • Monitor your water bill for signs of unusually high use.
  • Wait to run the dishwasher or laundry until you have a full load.

By implementing these strategies, we can all contribute to conserving water during this critical time. Let’s work together to protect our precious resources!
