Yachats, Oregon- November 9, 2024- Due to a sanitary sewer overflow, Yachats River and Ocean Road State Park Beaches in Yachats are regrettably closed until further notice. This closure affects all recreational activities in the area.
Crews were mobilized to clean the spill, and state agencies were notified to address the issue promptly. As soon as more information becomes available, we will share it with the public. We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you we are working diligently to resolve the problem and clean up the area.
After the clean-up was complete, it was determined that an estimated 62,000 gallons had spilled into the Yachats River. The health and safety of our residents and visitors are our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to reopen the beaches as soon as possible.
